FitKids strives to get children interested in fitness early in life. The program is divided into two groups (ages 2 to 5 and ages 6 and up). Age-appropriate fitness classes are offered year round in 10-week sessions. Classes can also be based on its participants and the instructor's specific interests. If a soccer team wants to join together, then the class will focus on techniques to help enhance their game.
The variety of classes offered allows children to determine their interests and build upon them from a young age. For the Toddler group, we offer age appropriate classes that build motor skills and coordination. For the older kids we offer classes that sample a variety of exercises ranging from cardio to yoga. Sessions run every quarter and follow the typical school calendar for holiday breaks. There are plenty of opportunities to experience the fun of living healthy through this program that encourages kids to get moving, become fit, and burn off stress.
For toddlers we offer a beginner ballet class with fun music and no experience required. We also offer a class that samples exercises from cardio movements to building coordination skills.
For the older kids we offer a class that samples exercises from yoga to Zumba, rebounding to cardio boot camp. For kids ages 9 and older we offer cycle class. Our highly trained instructor teaches them proper form and set up on the bike. They have an opportunity to run the gamut of endurance rides, strength rides, and interval rides-all in our cycle room.
