Specialty: Knee and low-back injury prevention; sports conditioning; weight loss. "Being healthy is being free." Bio: Personal Trainer Tony finds unique beauty in every individual. He loves working with members of the Center because everyone has something to teach about life. Tony earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in health and exercise science from Rowan University. He started his career as a fitness professional to educate on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. This led to opportunities in promoting physical education for school children, coaching track and basketball from middle school to the collegiate level, and training with some of the best fitness minds in the industry. He completed a six-week study on the effects of mild exercise on older individuals in a physical therapy setting. His experience also includes managing and mentoring other personal trainers, helping them become the best in their field through education, skill, and professionalism. Tony successfully trains a variety of clients, from the young athlete to the recovering cardiac patient. In addition to his experience with the general population, he specializes in clients who suffer from low back issues and ACL tears. He also specializes in speed and distance training needed for 5K and 20K events, and sports conditioning, particularly for basketball. He believes training should be fun, and a healthy lifestyle should be characterized by a feeling of freedom as opposed to restrictions. During his downtime, Tony likes to study religion, philosophy, and history. He has a great love for every major sport. A "people person," he loves to spend time with family, friends, and his church community. Tony is an avid singer; he has performed in charitable events in Philadelphia, sang the national anthem at his high school, and professionally recorded his own music. Fun fact: Tony won second place at a karaoke contest that included over a thousand contestants. Tony thrives at the Center, where he grows from sharing ideas and experiences. He is humbled by the opportunity to share his journey. His goal is to use his experiences and training skills to benefit members in the most positive way. |
